What a seasonal caravan pitch costs in Catalonia

1The range: €1,500 to €6,300 a year

As of 20 September 2026 we have sixty-two Catalan campsites published and forty-six of them sell an annual season. The cheapest is €1,500 a year; the dearest, €6,325. Almost four in ten — seventeen of the forty-six — start above €4,000, and that is the figure to keep in mind as a normal annual season in Catalonia.

Within a single campsite the gap between the cheapest and the dearest pitch reaches €2,275. You pay for square metres, for shade, for having your own water and waste, and above all for how close you are to the beach or the pool.

2The coast costs about €1,000 more than the mountains

It is the largest and steadiest difference. At the seaside campsites we have published, the annual season starts at €2,990 and reaches €5,520. In the mountains — the Pyrenees, the Berguedà, the Garrotxa — the same product runs from €1,500 to €4,788.

• Seaside: €2,990 to €5,520 for a standard pitch. The closer to Barcelona and to the sand, the higher in the range.
• Mountains: €1,500 to €4,788. The cheapest are the ones that open only at weekends and on public holidays.
• Inland: only four campsites and very different from one another, €2,724 to €5,715; the dearest sells a full resort.

What that comparison hides is how much you will actually use the pitch. A €2,500 mountain season you drive up to twice a month costs more per night than a €4,500 seaside one where you spend all of July and August.

3What is almost always charged on top

The season fee is the headline, not the bill. These are the items added afterwards, in order of how much they usually hurt:

• Electricity. Eighteen of the forty-six annual seasons include it, almost always at a fixed amperage and sometimes with a consumption cap. Another twenty-four charge it separately, metered — €0.20 to €0.48/kW — or as a daily fee of €4.50 to €12.50 depending on the amperage, for every night you sleep there; for the remaining four we do not know how it is charged. That daily fee is the underestimated one: forty nights at €9 is another €360.
• Deposit: around €200, refunded at the end. Not a cost, but you need it up front.
• Tourist tax, settled per person per night and almost always outside the fee.
• A second car, visitors, a pet and, at some campsites, compulsory caravan insurance.
• Storing the caravan during any closure, at campsites that make you remove it: add the storage plus two tows.

4Paying early costs less

Nearly every campsite quotes three prices for the same season: early payment — a discount for paying before a date, usually between February and June — payment in full, and two to four instalments, the dearest. Between the first and the last we have seen gaps of just over €100 to €575.

Some go further and charge differently by payment method: one price in cash or by transfer, a hundred euros more by card. Worth asking, because it is not always written into the rate sheet.

5Half seasons and single months: when they pay off

If you are not going to use the pitch all year, short seasons are a reasonable way in. The spring and autumn ones we have collected run from €450 to €3,400 depending on the campsite and how long the period lasts, and single winter months drop to €100–790 in the mountains.

Per month they cost more than an annual season, and that is the trap in comparing by the "from" price. But they buy two things worth money: no year-long commitment, and a chance to try the campsite before the expensive decision.

6How to compare without getting it wrong

• Always compare the same period: one annual season against another, never against a "from" price that is a month of July.
• Ask the price of the specific pitch you are offered, not the campsite's cheapest rate.
• Turn electricity into euros a year, based on the nights you will really go.
• Add the deposit, the tourist tax and any insurance before deciding.
• Ask how much the rate has risen over the last two years: if you plan to stay several seasons, that matters more than €100 today.
